Privacy Policy

Fast OCR ("the App") is a Windows desktop application developed and published by IAM_DEV. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the App collects, how it is used, and how it is stored.

1. Data We Collect

Fast OCR processes images locally on your device. We collect and store only the following data:

• Uploaded images — temporarily stored on your local disk during OCR processing, in the app data folder (%USERPROFILE%\.easy-ocr\uploads).
• OCR results — text extracted from your images is stored in a local SQLite database (%USERPROFILE%\.easy-ocr\easy-ocr.db) for your history view.
• App preferences — your UI language preference is stored in the same local SQLite database.
• Log files — rotating log files (easy-ocr.log) are saved locally to help diagnose errors. They do not contain image content.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

• We do not transmit your images or OCR results to any remote server.
• We do not collect analytics, telemetry, or crash reports that leave your device.
• We do not collect personally identifiable information (name, email, account credentials, etc.).
• We do not use cookies or tracking technologies.

3. How Data Is Used

All data described in Section 1 remains on your local device and is used solely to provide the OCR recognition and history features within the App.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

Your OCR history and uploaded images are stored indefinitely until you delete them manually through the App or by removing the %USERPROFILE%\.easy-ocr folder. Uninstalling the App does not automatically delete this folder.

5. Third-Party Libraries

Fast OCR uses the following open-source libraries for OCR processing:

• EasyOCR — all processing runs locally; no data is sent to EasyOCR servers.
• PyTorch — used as the underlying neural network framework, runs offline.

All neural network models are downloaded once during first use and stored locally on your device.

6. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated effective date.
